About xpdOffice

26 Years of Knowledge.
AI-Native Architecture.
One Open Category.

xpdOffice is the AI-Native Business Operating Systemâ„¢ for government contractors. We did not start in a pitch room. We started inside a real federal IT operation in 1998, solving real compliance problems that no available software could handle. That knowledge is now the engine of a platform built for a paradigm shift that is already underway.

The Paradigm Shift

ERP Was the Right Architecture for a Different Era.

Government contractors have been running on systems designed in the 1990s to solve a 1990s problem: consolidating siloed data into a single database. That was the right answer then. It is the wrong architecture now. The world has moved from data storage to operational intelligence, and the platforms that dominated the last 30 years have not moved with it.

Generation 1 · 1990s

ERP: Record Everything

Integrated disconnected silos into a single database. Solved the data consolidation problem. Answered questions, if you knew to ask them. Retrospective by design. Deltek and Unanet were built here and have not fundamentally left.

Generation 2 · 2010s

SaaS: Automate Workflows

Moved ERP to the cloud and added workflow automation. Faster, cheaper, more accessible. But the underlying architecture remained the same: store data, wait for humans to query it, produce reports after the fact. Still reactive.

Generation 3 · Now · AI-BOS™

AI-Native: Run the Business

The system reasons on live operational data, detects risk before it becomes a problem, drafts corrective actions, and enforces compliance in real time. The AI is not a feature. It is the architecture. xpdOffice was built for this generation.

This Is Not a Legacy System
Dressed Up with AI Branding.

The question every sophisticated investor asks is whether 26 years means the platform is old. It means the opposite. The operational knowledge took 26 years to accumulate. The platform that encodes it was rebuilt from the ground up on AI-native architecture. You cannot replicate the knowledge with funding. You cannot buy 26 years of DCAA audit experience or GovCon operational depth. What funding can do is accelerate the distribution of what that knowledge built.

The knowledge base is the moat. Every compliance control in xpdOffice exists because someone at SSSi faced a real DCAA floor check that exposed a real operational gap. That cannot be spec'd from the outside.

The architecture is new. xpdOffice runs on agentic AI with specialist agents for compliance, margin, staffing, and policy — reasoning on live data with explainable outputs. Not retrofitted analytics on top of old data models.

The timing is right because the technology is ready. A true AI-native compliance operating system could not have been built in 2005 or 2015. The infrastructure, the AI models, and the market readiness are all here now.

The Foundation

Built from the Inside
of a Real GovCon Operation.

In the late 1990s, SSSi was managing distributed contract teams across multiple federal programs with no unified system capable of connecting labor compliance, contract funding, and financial reporting simultaneously. The available tools were built for accountants. They were not built for operators managing DCAA audits, CLIN ceilings, and indirect rate pressure at the same time.

So we built our own. Not to start a software company. To run our business. That internal platform became xpdOffice. Every module, every compliance control, every AI signal in the system today traces back to a real operational problem that SSSi solved the hard way first.

Most ERP vendors built software for government contractors. xpdOffice was built by one. That distinction is not marketing. It is encoded in the product architecture.

"We did not build xpdOffice to raise money. We raised no money because we built xpdOffice right."
1985

SSSi founded as a federal IT contractor

Began decades of direct GovCon operational experience — managing DCAA audits, indirect cost pools, and federal contract compliance from day one.

Late 1990s

Resource: the internal platform that started everything

SSSi built an internal timekeeping and labor compliance system called Resource to solve what no available product could: connecting a single employee charging to five CLINs across three contracts in the same week.

2000s to 2010s

Platform evolved with operational depth

Resource became xpdOffice, absorbing expense management, contract tracking, indirect rate management, and project controls. Every new module was driven by a real operational requirement, not a product roadmap exercise.

2020s

Rebuilt as AI-Native Business Operating Systemâ„¢

Platform architecture redesigned from the ground up as AI-BOS™ with seven Command Centers, agentic AI specialist layers, and compliance controls embedded at the data model level — not as configuration overlays.

2026

Selectively opening to one strategic partner

The product is built. The category is defined. The market is ready. We are now engaging one or two partners with a demonstrated record of taking a vertical B2B platform to global scale.

The Market Opportunity

GovCon Software Is Not GovTech. That Distinction Is the Opportunity.

Investors familiar with government technology typically think of software sold to government agencies. GovCon software is different. The buyer is a private company operating under federal regulations. That creates a more complex, more defensible, and significantly more underserved market.

300K+

Registered US government contractors

The vast majority are small to mid-size firms with no modern integrated platform for DCAA compliance, indirect rate management, contract execution, and project finance in one system.

$0

Dominant AI-native platform in the market today

Deltek and Unanet are legacy ERP vendors built on 1990s architecture. Neither is AI-native. Neither was built from operational reality. The category is open.

10x

Labor and services spend beyond software budget

GovCon firms spend heavily on outside accountants, DCAA prep specialists, and compliance consultants. AI-BOS has a direct path to capturing that spend, not just the software line item.

High

Structural switching costs once embedded

Once a contractor's DCAA history, indirect rate structure, and audit trail live in xpdOffice, switching is both operationally painful and audit-risk-creating. Retention is architectural.

Global

Adjacent regulated markets beyond US GovCon

Defense contractors, regulated professional services, and compliance-intensive industries in the UK, EU, and allied nations face analogous operational complexity. The architecture scales naturally.

Now

Federal efficiency mandates accelerating adoption

The current federal environment is pushing government contractors to modernize their operational infrastructure. That creates urgency for adoption that did not exist three years ago.

GovTech — What Most Investors Know

  • — Software sold to government agencies
  • — Buyer is a government procurement office
  • — Sales cycle driven by government budget cycles
  • — Compliance is about government IT standards
  • — Examples: permitting software, benefits admin, public records

GovCon Software — What xpdOffice Owns

  • Software sold to private companies with federal contracts
  • Buyer is a CFO, compliance officer, or CEO
  • Sales cycle is a commercial B2B motion
  • Compliance is DCAA, FAR, DFARS, CAS — deeply technical
  • Examples: xpdOffice, Deltek, Unanet — a small, defined category
Investor Criteria

We Are Selective. So Should You Be.

We have operated for 26 years without outside capital. Not because we lacked the option but because we chose to build the product right rather than build it fast. That discipline does not disappear when we open the door to a partner. It shapes exactly who we are willing to let through it.

We are not looking for a check. We are looking for one or two partners who have done something very specific: taken a focused vertical B2B software platform from a defined market to global category leadership. Read these criteria carefully. Be honest with yourself about whether your firm qualifies. We will be equally direct when we speak.

Proven exits or scale plays in vertical B2B software

Not growth-stage software broadly. We mean vertical platforms — industry-specific, compliance-sensitive, high-retention — taken from a focused market to international category leadership. Show us specifically where you have done it.

Marketing and brand-building at the platform level

xpdOffice has deep product depth and a clear category position. What we need is a partner who knows how to make a vertical platform a globally recognized brand. With hands-on operational capability, not just capital and a network introduction.

Understanding of compliance-sensitive enterprise markets

GovCon is not a standard SaaS sales motion. Buying cycles are deliberate, compliance validation is part of the evaluation, and trust is earned over years. We need a partner who has navigated this terrain and will not try to force a consumer-software growth playbook onto it.

Long-term platform orientation, not an 18-month exit mandate

We have been building for 26 years. The opportunity in GovCon and the adjacent compliance markets it unlocks is a multi-decade platform play. We want a partner who sees the same horizon and is prepared to build toward it with the same discipline we have shown.

Operational involvement, not passive capital

We have the product, the architecture, and the domain depth. What we do not have is global GTM scale and the brand-building machine to take xpdOffice to international category leadership. Capital without those capabilities is not what moves the needle from here.

Genuine conviction in AI-native vertical software as a category

xpdOffice is not a horizontal platform with GovCon features bolted on. It is an AI-native system built from the ground up for contract-driven operations. The right partner understands the architectural difference and why it creates a durable, defensible position.

You Qualify If Your Firm:

  • Has taken a vertical B2B platform to global scale
  • Has hands-on GTM and brand-building capability
  • Has experience in compliance-sensitive enterprise markets
  • Thinks in 5 to 10 year platform horizons
  • Brings operational involvement, not passive capital
  • Has conviction in AI-native vertical software as a category
  • Inquiry is coming from a principal or Managing Director

You Do Not Qualify If Your Firm:

  • — Is a generalist fund without vertical software experience
  • — Operates on growth-at-all-costs mandates
  • — Measures success in 18-month cycles
  • — Is seeking majority control or board dominance
  • — Has no hands-on GTM or marketing build capability
  • — Is unfamiliar with compliance-sensitive enterprise sales
  • — Is an analyst or associate conducting exploratory sourcing
What We Bring

The Right Partner Does Not
Build the Product. It Is Built.

We are not a pre-revenue startup asking someone to take a bet on an idea. We are a mature, operationally proven platform with a 26-year institutional foundation, a defined category position, and a market that has never had a dominant AI-native challenger.

What the right partner brings is what we have chosen not to build alone: the global GTM machine, the brand-building capability, and the market access to take xpdOffice from category creator to category leader worldwide.

✓

Production-ready AI-BOSâ„¢ platform

Seven Command Centers, eight live modules, agentic AI with specialist agents for compliance, margin, staffing, and policy — running on live operational data, not retrofitted analytics.

✓

26 years of GovCon domain knowledge encoded in software

DCAA compliance, indirect rate mechanics, incurred cost submissions, and FAR-aligned workflows built from operational reality. Every control traces to a real audit finding, not a product specification document.

✓

An open category with no dominant AI-native incumbent

The AI-Native Business Operating System for Government Contractors is a category being defined right now. Deltek and Unanet are legacy platforms on aging architecture. The window to define and own this category is open.

✓

Architecture built for global scale

Contract-centric data model that extends naturally into adjacent regulated verticals beyond US GovCon. Defense contracting internationally, regulated professional services, compliance-intensive industries worldwide.

✓

Institutional credibility from 40 years of federal delivery

SSSi's track record as a federal IT contractor creates a trust foundation that no funded startup can replicate regardless of investment size. This is earned, not purchased.

The Investment Thesis

GovCon Is the Beachhead. Compliance-Sensitive Enterprise Is the Destination.

The United States government contractor market is the most compliance-intensive, operationally complex, and systematically underserved vertical in enterprise software. Winning here, with an AI-native platform and a 26-year institutional moat, creates the foundation for something considerably larger than the GovCon market alone.

The organizations that win the next decade in GovCon will not be the ones with the best ERP implementation. They will be the ones whose operational intelligence compounds faster than their competitors — because their system was watching while everyone else was running reports.

01

Win the vertical with the deepest moat

Establish AI-BOSâ„¢ as the definitive operating standard for US government contractors. Build switching costs so structural that no horizontal platform can compete on domain depth.

02

Define and own the AI-BOSâ„¢ category globally

Make xpdOffice the recognized name for AI-native business operations in compliance-sensitive markets — the platform that serious government contractors and regulated services firms run their business on.

03

Expand into adjacent regulated verticals worldwide

Defense contracting internationally, regulated professional services, and compliance-intensive industries across allied nations. The architecture built to win in US GovCon is the architecture that wins in those markets too.
